 Associations

The 9 associations are formed from 30 divisions. The associations are split geographically across England. They have responsibility for managing the collection of affiliation fees from clubs and the organisation of quarter finals stages and beyond of national competition (eg. ABA, Junior ABA, Golden Gloves and Golden Belt). The association will issue permits for such events and select officials to manage them. The associations oversee amateur boxing in their region, ensuring all standards are maintained and the rules and regulations of the ABAE are applied. The association oversees the administration of criminal record checks (CRB) to help protect the sport and its participants. The associations also arrange representative squads of boxers to compete in the United Kingdom and beyond.

Divisions

There are 30 divisions supporting the 9 associations. There responsibilities are wide ranging. The division will issue permits for club shows and select and nominate officials for such shows. Clubs are affiliated to a division. At this local level the divisions ensure the standards of amateur boxing and maintained and that the rules and reputations are applied. Divisions have representative squads who again compete within the United Kingdom and beyond.

Clubs

The 725 amateur boxing club of England are the bedrock, or foundation, of the ABAE. They are its life blood. Many thousands of volunteers across England give generously enormous amounts of their own time, freely.

It is the dedication and support of these men and women that enables many tens of thousands of children and young people to enjoy the noble sport of amateur boxing.

Clubs are responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment exists for children and young people to train and compete. Clubs train athletes in the art of boxing, put athletes forward for boxing medicals (to allow individuals to compete), train coaches, support officials, eg. referees, time-keepers, judges, officer in charge (OIC), administrators and volunteers. They organise clubs shows, compete on other club shows, enter tournaments and national championships. They fund raise to cover expenses (eg. rent, equipment, travelling costs) and, most importantly, take full responsibility for the safety and welfare of every single athlete in their care.

Other Bodies

In addition to the 9 associations there are other affiliated boxing sports bodies to the ABAE. These are:
