Board

The following responsibilities rest with the board: Governance of the ABAE, financial management, commercial explanation, development of corporate identify, reputation and media profile, overview of rules and regulations, management of the Boxing Foundation, sports administration and development of the sport.  The board sets the ABAE's annual budget and is responsible for the sport's long term financial stability.  
It takes responsibility for targets and delivery of the Whole Sport Plans, and is the sovereign body of the ABAE.

The board comprises of no more than 10 Directors and a Chief Executive. Of these Directors, 7 are 'Boxing Directors', who are elected by the Council for Boxing through nomination and ballot.  A further 3 individuals are appointed (again through nomination and ballot) as 'Non-Executive Directors'.  From these a Chair is elected.

Each Director and Non-Executive Director is elected for a period of 3 years.  This is an unpaid role.  The board comprises of a Chairman, 6 Boxing Directors and (3) Non-Executive Directors:

The Board meets usually on a monthly basis.  It was established in September 2005.  A third of the Board retires each year and must seek re-election.
