Capital Investment Programme (CIP)
What is the Amateur Boxing Association of England Capital Investment Programme?
As part of a bid to Sport England, the Amateur Boxing Association of England Ltd was successful in securing £1.1 million of capital investment to be used to support clubs and organisations between the funding period 2010 to 2013.
Clubs and organisations will be able to apply for grants from the Capital Investment Programme (CIP). Awards will be made against specific eligibility criteria. The minimum award we will make is £30,000. We have not set a maximum award as we will assess each project on its own merit but applicants need to be realistic and take into account the limited amount of capital funding available.
Please read the guidance notes to the left before making an application.
The guidance notes below cover the funding period 1st April 2010 to 31st March 2013.
What are the priority areas for funding?
As a guiding principle, projects that provide support and direct delivery against the Key Interventions in the Amateur Boxing Development Strategy 2009-2013 (PDF [3.8Mb]. Download time 15 minutes 6 seconds based on a 56k modem. Will open a new browser window.) are likely to be prioritised.
All applications must clearly identify how the funds will be used to meet one or more of these interventions and whether the project will service local, regional or international needs.

Partnership funding
All applications must have partnership funding (at least £1 for £1 match) The Amateur Boxing Association of England is trying to maximise value for money and has limited funds to invest. Please note projects seeking a smaller percentage of their overall costs will score higher in the assessment process.
Who can apply?
Anyone who provides boxing can apply, including amateur boxing clubs, Local Authorities, formally constituted voluntary clubs and Armed Forces. We will require all organisations to be affiliated to ABAE.
